I focus on policy-relevant questions at the intersection of development economics and political economy.

My research centres on three thematic areas:

Using modern econometric methods, I investigate these topics in international research teams with a strong focus on practical applications. The aim is to provide evidence-based contributions to current development policy debates.

• the effects of international military interventions and peacekeeping missions on conflict dynamics in Afghanistan


• the economic and political impacts of immigration in the United States


• the integration of refugee women in Germany
