The project proposal "DIS/CONNECT: Gender, Power and Disinformation Across Borders" has been approved – a workshop series on the intersections of gender, sexuality, human rights, and digital cultures
The Institute for Diversity Research is pleased to announce that the proposal “DIS/CONNECT: Gender, Power and Disinformation Across Borders” has been successfully accepted within the framework of the ENLIGHT Future-proof Incubator Grants (Strand B: Joint Innovative Education Initiatives). The project is initiated and carried out by Dr. Anukriti Dixit (University of Bern, Lead), Dr. Maëlle Noir (University of Bordeaux), Dr. Marília Gehrke (University of Groningen), and Dr. Friz M. Trzeciak (University of Göttingen, Institute for Diversity Research).
The project will take place in the winter semester 2026/27 as a virtual, interdisciplinary, and transnational workshop series. It brings together students, early-career researchers, and practitioners to critically engage with the intersections of gender, sexuality, human rights, and digital cultures.
Across four interconnected workshops, participants will address current challenges such as digital disinformation, gender-based violence, masculinist backlash movements, political and legal gaps in human rights protection, and explore potential strategies and countermeasures.
