Colloquium in a monastery

From March 24 to 25, 2024, this year’s research colloquium of the marketing departments from the Universities of Göttingen, Hannover, and Münster took place in Bestwig (Sauerland). In a relaxed yet focused atmosphere, professors and doctoral candidates came together to present current research projects, reflect collaboratively, and gain new inspiration for their academic work.

Among the topics discussed were dissertation projects on virtual consumer behavior, the digital transformation of the healthcare sector, and the use of generative AI in scale development. Stepping outside of everyday university life provided a setting that enabled both concentrated work and creative thinking.

A joint excursion to the Bilstein Cave in Warstein offered a welcome change of pace between the intensive sessions—and an impressive shift in perspective at a place where time seems to stand still.

The colloquium vividly demonstrated how inter-university exchange and inspiring environments can foster the advancement of academic work. Sincere thanks go to all participants from Münster, Hannover, Karlsruhe, and Göttingen for their dedication and enriching discussions.
