TealBlue

TealBlue project aims to study the interconnectivity between Southeast Asian mangroves and the adjacent landward ecosystems with adjacent landward ecosystems. Within this project, contribution of peatland-sourced organic matter to mangrove carbon stock will be estimated. Exchange of nutrient and other material between the two neighboring ecosystems will also be assessed and the response of recipient ecosystem to material transfer over long term will be evaluated. Furthermore, potential time-lag between the occurrence of driver in one ecosystem and observable impact or response in the neighboring ecosystem will be estimated. Information generated by this project will be useful for the development of integrated and well-tailored management of wetland complexes in Southeast Asia.

TealBlue project is funded by the DFG and will run until November 2029.
