Rohini Mitra

Rohini Mitra is a researcher at Centre for Modern Indian Studies, University of Göttingen, working on the DFG funded project InDiPop, led by Prof. Srirupa Roy. Her research explores questions related to migration, mobility, diaspora, asylum, and transnationalism in the context of South Asia. She holds a Masters in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has been a visiting scholar at the European Research Centre for Migration and Ethnic Relations (ERCOMER), Utrecht University and a fellow at the Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies (BICC). During her doctoral studies at the University of Bonn, she was awarded the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Doctoral Fellowship (2021-25), the Zeit Stiftung 'Uncertainty' Fellowship (2025), and the Santander International Exchange Grant (2025).
